Mayukh Sengupta for his talent entry Ya Ali (click here to view) in Singing Category!!! The competition was very close with the Mayukh and the runner up talent tied up at 41 votes each. However the review ratings and the panel reviews swung it in Mayukh's favor. CONGRATULATIONS MAYUKH ON BEING THE FIRST DYANMYCDESI WINNER.
Mayukh is a very gifted & talented person. He started showing his capabilities in singing and performing from the tender age of three. He sang, acted and danced in several school and social functions - receiving awards & rewards for them regularly. Mayukh is an Aussie kid, spending all his life growing up in Sydney (Australia). He regularly performed in the top choir group during his schooling years at Sydney Grammar School.
About a year ago, Mayukh developed an interest in singing Hindi Songs - without ever being able to read, write or speak the language (Hindi) his whole life! He has since managed to pick up the language and is trying to learn/improve his accent and vocabulary everyday. Stage performance comes to him naturally, as he is a born performer. Mayukh's first big break occurred when he became the overall winner in a local 'Indian Idol'-style contest. He was the only locally raised individual competing - and was up against 86 people of Indian/Hindi speaking background. The famous classical singer Pandit Ajay Chakraborty from Kolkata (India) recently praised his voice and talents in singing by listening to his songs acappella & face-to-face, before accepting him as student disciple!
Mayukh presents popular Indian Community TV Shows here in Sydney, and is regularly employed as a Master of Ceremonies (MC) for Cultural Programs, Weddings etc. He has also appeared in Australian TV Game Shows (such as 'Wheel of Fortune') and won! Mayukh also used to run a very successful Indian Community radio program in New Zealand (while studying there), and received an award from the NZ Government for his contributions. He used to perform during several cultural programs in New Zealand as well! Mayukh is very popular in Australia (and around the world) as an exciting young talent - especially in singing. People admire him for his drive to perfect the Hindi language and perform his songs flawlessly. Music is his passion, and he delivers enjoyable performances everywhere. This serves as a great example to other aspiring youths of 'Desi' origin living outside India.
